ReWire 1.7 & Reason 3.0.5

Saturday, May 20th, 2006 | 4:43 pm and filed in Reason, Propellerhead, Music Software.

The Props have released a much needed update to ReWire which makes integration with host applications much smoother. Logic Pro users can sympathize with the excruciatingly slow launch and load times associated with Reason and ReWire, not to mention the occasional hang-up when closing out the ReWire slave application. Finally this issue has been answered!

Besides being able to smoothly check Reason signals using my favorite measurement plug-ins (InspectorXL from Elemental Audio), the improved efficiency with GarageBand has also inspired me to develop some projects that take advantage of Apple’s iLife software and Reason.

More information about the Universal Binary version of Reason 3.0.5 and Rewire 1.7 update is posted on the Propellerheads Website

Just notice that Elemental Audio is now sold through Roger Nichols Inc. Roger is one of my favorites ( I am a Steely Dan fan).

For PC and RME users, digiCHECK is the best metering system. It’s included with the RME cards. Ever used it?

If i only had so much money for a rme interface, then life has been smoother….

Yeah the deal with Roger Nichols is a suprise. I received an email announcement yesterday after posting this entry. It looks like inspector isn’t even available anymore. :-(

I’m using reason 3.0 with Cubase SX3 and I haven’t noticed any unusually long rewire load times, or experienced any hang ups. Is it just any issue with Logic? I’m on a PC so I’m not really familiar with Logic (no pun intended).

Sorry for the ugly comment. I was trying to be cool and use hyperlinks, but apparently I’m too old to figure it out.
