ReBirthMP3::Then take a listen to the new track i uploaded to ReBirthMP3! Keep Going. This is kind of a wierd track with samples and loops from all different styles of techno/electronic music. If anything it's interesting. Another funky house version will be available from my mp3.com page in the near future. RBM:: Sorry, I got some new toys recently and all Mod projects have been put on hold. I'll try to finish up the Dejenerate Oxydized Edition mod soon though. i.e. Demo Song needs to be finished. =peff
3 July 1999 analoguesamples.com :: Hey! if you liked those moog samples i made available, you will love this website! I've submitted several other archives to the collection, including some of the Buchla sequences from "Mix of Uncertainty", Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Memorymoog+, EMS VCS-3, and Oberheim OB-8. Check under artist "KK", and Thanks for the nice mention, Björn! For you tech geeks, Most of the samples were recorded through a Summit Audio dual Tube comp/lim. and into a Lexicon 20/20 A/D converter straight to DAT: hence the Phatness! Chemical CD :: didn't turn out half bad. I might leave it online for awhile. ReBirthMP3 CDs :: I've been busy working on the CD covers for the ReBirthMP3 collaboration. If you're a contributing artist please check the link to verify that your name is correct on the cover. If you want it changed, please e-mail me. RBM :: Hami and I are reworking Dejenerate Oxy mod for officialization. Yeah the knobs sucked, and some of the samples can stand to be trashed. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT YET, since it's not finished. The Dejenerate Oxydized edition mod on this site and computer controlled is still the same old one, but check back soon. In the meantime, I hope everyone in the United States has a fun ID4! =peff
24 June 1999 MP3 :: I've uploaded a new track to mp3.com. Deep [Spundae Mornin' Mix] This is a long (12:29) track made with Minimod samples and some OB8 samples and B-3 samples dropped into a ReBirth Mod. I probably wont make this mod public in the near future because i'm so back logged with other crap right now. Chemical CD :: Also, for a limited time, you can purchase a collection of the tracks on mp3.com. I don't want to call it an album since the mp3.com DAM CD's have CRAPPY audio (IMHO the CD-Audio Conversion back from MP3 really sucks...the MP3's sound Waaay Better). A friend of mine asked me to do it, and so I set it up. It has ReBirth only tracks on it, but if you have ReBirth, You really don't need to buy it! Just Download the RBS files and RBM files from here. I'm only going to have the CD available for a week or two. ReBirthMP3 :: Theres another version of Deep [ReBirth MP3 Edit] This is the Short Version (only 5:08). Also, Notorius, The Minimod Demo RBS has been rendered, tweeked, encoded and uploaded to the ReBirthMP3 collaboration on mp3.com. You can also purchase a copy of the ReBirthMP3 collections which are really cool. People are doing some amazing stuff with the application and RBMs =peff
19 June 1999 RBM :: New mod with an old look. u_Gene.rbm is a nice set of acoustic drums graciously donated by a rather famous drummer who goes by the online nicname, u_gene :) The samples are all from a single kit and are tuned well and dynamically balanced to get a real drum kit sound out of this mod. Thanks for the samples u_g! The mod uses the same GUI as the RSP-1200 (appropriate since it's a sampled kit). There's not much of a demo track. Just some patterns i threw together to display what the mod is capable of. =peff
18 June 1999 RBM :: minimod.rbm is has gone official! You can download a copy from Propellerhead Software I've also been refining the Sync mod. I've created some nice samples from an OB8 and Oberheim Xpander as well as the ones I created on the Prophet 5. There is a really really really rough unfinished version available on Computer Controlled's FTP archive. But this will neither sound like or resemble the final. MP3 :: I've added a new MP3 track to mp3.com, Mix of Uncertainty. This track does not include any ReBirth. It was created with my Buchla Series 200 Modular Analog Synth, a Lexicon 300 DSP box, and an Eventide H3000 Effects Box. Then mixed and recorded through a Lexicon 20/20 A/D converter (thanks David!). The parts were then assembled in Pro Tools. This is really just an experimental type of piece. I used the Source of Uncertainty module to modulate everything from panning to sequence playback speed to Filter Cutoffs, Pitch Voltages, Ring and Frequency Modulation. Basically I let the synth Tweek itself! The results were very cool. Check it out. LNK :: I don't know how many months it has been since I even touched my links page, but I've killed the dead ones, and I have added some descriptions with each of the links. If you want your ReBirth Related site added, please send me a 64x64 .gif and a brief description, and I'll add it to the site. I will try to get around to adding links to the new Modmaker's sites as soon as I can. (yeah, you know who you are!) AIF :: Yeah, there is no AIF link on the bar so for anyone who actually reads this, I'm giving you special access to some full fidelity audio samples from my Memorymoog+. If you're a lazy bum, you'll probably miss this opportunity. Copy and paste the following text into your browser and feel free to download what you find in this folder: sinfinity.nu/peff/samples Again, the samples are copyrighted and have the same conditions as the minimod samples: If commercially used, I request e-mail notification and credit for the samples. You may distribute them freely, only if the file name is left intact. <--like any serious bastards will really respect these wishes. Oh well! The moog basses are phat, so enjoy them! =peff
10 June 1999 RBM :: minimod.rbm is done! I've sent the mod to Tage at Propellerhead Software and faxed in the agreement form--hopefully they will make it official soon. So it should become publicly available shortly! The mod is now available through Computer Controlled's FTP server/Hotline Server. This mod is the first one which I am placing some conditions on it. minimod.rbm is NOT FREEWARE. If commercially used, I request mail/email notification and credit for the samples - okay so it's still free, I'm just making a small request to be credited for the samples. By notifying me, I can also inform other ReBirth Users/Enthusiasts about your commercial release from this site:) This has been an unspoken rule amongst mod makers, but this is my first time declaring a form of respectful protocol between ReBirth Users and Mod Makers. Now back to work on some other mods that need some work. Sync.rbm is probably going to undergo a total graphic overhaul. MP3 :: I've been busy with mp3 uploads. I've uploaded the demo track from minimod.rbm to the ReBirthMP3 archive. The track is titled, "Notorius" but check out all the great works on the page from other ReBirth Users. Stuart Diamond :: Although Not ReBirth Related, i'm very proud of my engineering work with my friend Stuart . We Recorded his Violin Konzerto with fancy fiddler, Karen Bentley. I have encoded this work to mp3 and have made it available in full for download from mp3.com. This piece is pretty spectacular considering that it uses only a proteus I (the original proteus from e-mu systems) as the sound source for the orchestration behind Karen's Violin performance. Karen and I recorded some violin solos, and I might put some of those samples into a mod to see what comes out of it....you never know how cool it will sound coming out of ReBirth :) =peff
4 June 1999 I've been checking site statistics for my pages here and have been amazed at the diversity of interest in ReBirth Mods! Here's a list of countries/domains of surfers who have visited this site:
This is too cool. Music is indeed a universal language. Thanks Everyone for the last few years of support and interest in ReBirth Mods! =peff
1 June 1999 RBM :: I have too many projects on the fire!! So i'm going backwards to play catch up. I'm putting finishing touches on MINIMOD.rbm for submission as an official propellerheads software mod. The sample set will yet again change. Sync is put on hold but i'll have a beta with half the graphics (redone) available. In the meantime, I assembled a little mod for a specific project. ReVerse808.rbm which sounds exactly like the name. The 808 samples have been reversed. It's a fun little modification to ReBirth reminiscent of the old style of reversing a tape with an 808 beat. Admittingly, rendering an 808 drum loop and reversing it with an external editor works much better than the mod. But for anyone who doesn't have these resources, this mod might come in handy. =peff
